Pinkston Basin Applications- August 2027 to June 2028

We are taking applications for the at Glasgow’s Urban Adventure Award Pinkston Basin for August 2027/June 2028.

Glasgow’s Urban Adventure Award is a progressive 3 day Outdoor Learning experience set in our urban environment. This is a 3 day programme which includes two nationally accredited awards: British Paddling Start Award and the National Outdoor Learning Award (NOLA).

This new Award incorporates both an inclusive approach with “All learners all achieving” and values the “engagement and celebration of the voice of children and young people enabling contributions and ideas to be heard and considered to support the development of a meaningful curriculum” in line with the in line with the Glasgow Educational Strategy 22-27.

Young People will choose to focus on different 'Wild Pathways' whilst also undertaking national certificates in outdoor learning and paddlesports:
1. Wild Self (Creative and Personal Skills)
2. Wild Others (Team building & Leadership)
3. Wild Environment (Environmental and Conservation)

The cost for taking part in Glasgow’s Urban Adventure Award is £107.00 per participant and includes transport for groups of up to 15.

General Conditions:
Head Teachers and Organisers must satisfy themselves of the suitability of the Centres’ physical environment and the extent and limitations of its programmes of activities especially for pupils with profound additional support needs before requesting a booking. All group supervision and trip management should be facilitated as per MC48.
Allocations of places at Pinkston are based on the numbers requested and date choices. We will not always be able to provide your first choice dates. If your numbers drop before the start of the agreed dates the following charges will apply:
Over 8 weeks notice = £0 per person.
Under 8 weeks notice = £30 per person.
Under 1 week notice = Full Fee per person.

Charges for the 2027/2028 allocations will be taken by internal budget transfer. Please ensure your AFA knows we will be contacting them for the relevant budget codes.

8.If your school is allocated a place you will be emailed a date and full booking conditions. You will then be required to accept or decline that place.
If you are not allocated a place you will receive email notification and reasons as why you have not been allocated.
