* 9. VOLUNTEER PREPARATION & SAFETY TIPS FOR EVENT:
Come prepared for rain or shine. Except for severe weather, we are set for planting activities near a watercourse. Standard time commitment for the event is three hours, starting with orientation and planting demonstration. Please arrive at the site ten minutes early, if possible.

List of things to bring--work gloves, water for hydration, snack, hand sanitizer, bug repellent, and sunscreen. Tools such as a shovel will be supplied but bringing your own is preferred. Remember to ID it!

List of things to wear--safety shoes, rubber boots or other sturdy footwear (no sandals or open toe shoes); long-sleeved shirt and pants (no shorts) to protect against bugs like ticks and plants that can cause rash; hat, jacket for rain/sun protection.

SSSN Events are approved for students seeking community service hours. When bringing the form, the student’s full name, school, date, and volunteer activity (i.e., Stream Restoration) should already be filled out. Once filled out, send it to Theresa@nottawasga.com or bring it to the event to be signed.
