The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) operated the historic Wyler Aerial Tramway to Ranger Peak in the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, TX between 2001 and 2018. In September 2018, the tramway was shut down after an engineering analysis found the tramway had past its life expectancy and was unsafe for passenger use. TPWD is leading a feasibility study to determine the possibilities for constructing a new/replacement aerial tramway in the Franklin Mountains.
