Northeastern University's 2026 AI Summer Institute for local high school STEM teachers/administrators will be held in-person on our Boston campus Monday, July 13 - Thursday, July 16 from 8:30am - 4:00pm each day. Accepted participants will be expected to attend in-person with the goal of exploring and integrating generative AI tools into their classrooms for the 2026 - 2027 academic year, as allowed by their own district's AI policies.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about AI literacy, multiple generative AI tools, AI-informed lesson plan development, and AI-powered classroom implementation and assessment. Supported by the Northeastern leadership team and our growing professional learning community, participants will design and develop their own AI Action Plan, present it to their AI Summer Institute peers, share their implementation progress during 2 virtual call-back meetings (1 in Fall 2026, 1 in Spring 2027), and share their experiences with other teachers at local conferences (MassCUE, MAST, and/or EdTechTeacher). Participants who satisfactorily complete the program's requirements will receive an individual stipend of $3,000 to sustain their work ($1,500 for completing the AI Summer Institute and $1,500 for demonstrating progress toward classroom implementation during the academic year).
