Age-Friendly Public Health Systems (AFPHS) 6Cs Framework Training and Implementation Program

The Maine Council on Aging is partnering with Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) to offer public health leaders in Maine an opportunity to participate in a pilot training program based on the new Age-Friendly Public Health Systems (AFPHS) 6Cs Framework Training and Implementation Guide (6Cs Guide). The program is designed to increase knowledge and expertise in understanding the public health roles in improving and supporting older adult health and well-being.
TFAH will facilitate seven free 1-hour sessions over the course of 14 weeks to introduce participants to age-friendly public health concepts and the AFPHS 6Cs Framework as well as in-depth training on how public health practitioners can improve healthy aging practice including expanding networks, data collection, health assessments, and other key roles of public health with a view toward building capacity to support older adults and caregivers.
People who complete the seven sessions will automatically receive designation as an AFPHS Champion through the AFPHS Recognition Program and receive recognition through TFAH’s network as well as a certificate and virtual badge.
The free sessions will be held by Zoom every other Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. starting on January 28th.
