Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council A560 Streets for All proposals: Questionnaire

Share your views

Tameside Council is developing proposals to improve Stockport Road / Mottram Old Road (A560) through Hattersley as part of the Greater Manchester Streets for All programme.
The proposals aim to make the A560:
Safer and easier to walk, wheel and cycle
Better connected to the bus network
More pleasant for people living and spending time in the area
We want to make everyday journeys to local destinations and public transport safer and more accessible, while ensuring the A560 continues to function as a key road connecting Hattersley with the motorway and nearby towns.
By making better use of the available space along the corridor, our proposals include new crossings, wider footways, cycle lanes separated from vehicle traffic, upgraded bus stops, landscaping along the corridor, a consistent speed limit and clear parking restrictions to ensure the cycle lanes and footways remain unobstructed.
Please ensure you have reviewed the information about the proposals before completing the questionnaire. The information is available on our website: www.tameside.gov.uk/A560
Have your say before Friday 18 September 2026.
