If you are a CPRS National member, please complete the form below.

If you are not a CPRS National Emerging Practitioner member or a National Student member, please get in touch with membership@cprs.ca or go to cprs.ca to sign up online. Once you have your membership approved, you can fully complete this application for review. Membership is not immediately approved, so build that timing into your process.

You will want to maintain your annual CPRS membership with your PRK^TM certificate. It is part of a journey and will help you build your network and credibility as you move towards your APR^®.

Please note: the PRK^TM exam is held once a year. The next virtual exam is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026. Any cancellation must occur by May 25, 2026. There are no deferrals. Any issues from the writer on the day of the exam will not be taken into account as part of the cancellation policy, which is outlined below.

At the end of this short intake form, there is a link to take you to the CPRS store for payment using Mastercard or Visa. Payment is needed to complete this application. We do not invoice. If there is more than one person you are signing up, each person needs to complete it. Eligibility

Although the CPRS welcomes all participants who wish to write the Public Relations Knowledge (PRK)^TM exam, the exam has been prepared for those who have completed some level of public relations or communications education. The PRK^TM is designed to specifically test a participant’s knowledge in the field of public relations and communications. Prior to taking this exam, formal studies in public relations or communications are strongly recommended. Alternatively, a participant may have acquired direct work experience and undertaken self-directed studies in the area. If you would like to discuss your personal situation, please feel free to contact us at certification@cprs.ca.

Please note that all PRK^TM exam participants must be members of CPRS National. A variety of membership types and levels are available and listed below under Membership and Exam Cost. Registration closes on May 31, 2026. Any registration after the cancellation date is not eligible to a refund.

Deferral Policy:
There are no deferrals.

Refund Policy:
In the event of cancellation or failure to appear at the exam, the CPRS does not provide a refund to the participant. If a request for cancellation is made prior to 10 working days in advance of the exam date, the cost of the exam portion will be refunded and a twenty-dollar fee to cover administration and processing will be added. There are no returns on membership purchases.
