CEDAW Consultation Survey: What are the Pressing Issues Facing Women Today?

The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is a United Nations treaty that sets out the rights of women and girls and the steps governments should take to eliminate discrimination and achieve equality. The UK has ratified CEDAW and is therefore required to report to the UN on its progress in meeting these obligations.

Every few years, the UN CEDAW Committee examines the UK's record and makes recommendations to the UK Government on areas where action is needed to improve women's rights.

The Committee considers evidence from women’s organisations and civil society alongside the UK Government’s own report. The responses to this survey will inform the civil society response.

We are consulting women, girls and women's organisations across England to help identify the key strategic issues that should be raised with the CEDAW Committee in its examination of the UK.

Your input will help shape our evidence and inform how we hold the UK Government accountable for women's rights.

You do not need to answer every question. Please answer the questions that are relevant to your experience, knowledge or expertise. We welcome examples, evidence and experiences that you think the CEDAW Committee should hear about.

It should take approx. 10-20 minutes depending on the level of detail you want to provide. Completed survey participants will be entered into a prize draw.
