Help shape the City of Berkeley’s vision for Solano Avenue, North Shattuck, and College Avenue so they better meet your needs and those of your community. Your input will help Berkeley plan for corridors that support more homes, thriving local businesses, and welcoming spaces for everyone.

The City is exploring zoning updates along these three key corridors to help address the community’s housing needs, advance fair housing goals, and reduce longstanding barriers that have made it difficult to build new housing in some of Berkeley’s highest-resource neighborhoods. Updating zoning standards can create more opportunities for a mix of homes and businesses, promote economic vitality, and ensure these areas grow in a way that benefits everyone.

Your feedback will help guide how the City manages:
  • Allowing more homes and mixed-use buildings near shops and transit
  • Supporting small businesses and preserving neighborhood quality
  • Promoting walkable, vibrant streets that serve people of all ages and abilities

Your input will help shape the final preferred zoning alternative that will be presented to the Planning Commission and City Council in the Fall of 2025.

The survey will remain open until October 10, 2025.
