2026 Don Quijote Awards Nomination Professional of the Year

This form is for the Professional of the Year category.

This award recognizes individuals who have excelled in their profession or field of work.

Below are the qualifications for an individual to be considered in this category. The individual must:
  • Reside and work in Central Florida
  • Be of Hispanic descent
  • Be a member in good standing of the Hispanic Chamber at the time of nomination, or a member of a Prospera committee
  • Cannot own more than 20% of the business represented
The following do not qualify for the Don Quijote Award:
  • Elected officials or those running for office
  • Board members, employees, and immediate relatives of employees of Prospera or the Hispanic Chamber
  • Members of this year's Don Quijote Awards Selection Committee
  • Past award winners. If the nominee has been a finalist for a Don Quijote Award in the past, but has not won, the nominee may apply.
Special Notes:
  • Founders or executive directors of nonprofits may apply in this category.
  • A nominee may not submit applications in more than one category.
Individuals in the Professional of the Year category will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Professional achievements
  • Demonstrated leadership within profession or field of work
  • Professional recognitions, honors or awards received
  • Community involvement

  • Description of the nominee's career history, responsibilities in current position, and professional achievements
  • Description of demonstrated leadership within their company, profession or field of work
  • Description of involvement in any social, civic, trade, or business organizations
  • List of recognitions, honors or awards received

  • This is a competitive process. Remember to market your nominee creatively and effectively describe how they meet the evaluation criteria.
  • Do not include links to videos in your application. Links to any external material will not be reviewed.
