A Copyright Alliance Survey: U.S. Copyright Office Fees (Part 2)
On March 26, the U.S. Copyright Office announced that it is exploring whether it should introduce new copyright registration fee structures.
The Copyright Alliance put together assembled this survey in order to better understand the copyright community’s response to the Office’s proposal to provide a subscription fee model. The subscription would allow applicants to file a certain number of applications or works during a set time period for a single fee.
We welcome responses from individual creators and from organizations/companies that register works they produce, distribute, or publish. If you are taking this survey as a representative of an organization/company, you should answer each question from the perspective of that company/organization.

This survey should take less than 10-15 minutes to complete. We will not ask your name or any other identifying information, and we will not share any personal information about you with third parties. The data we collect will only be used in the aggregate to inform the Copyright Office about how the proposed alternative fee structures may affect creators and copyright owners.
Prior to beginning this survey, it may be useful to gather information about your copyright registration practices (e.g., the number of applications you file on average per year, the kinds of works you typically register, and the type of application(s) you normally use).
Thank you for taking the time to participate in our survey! Your feedback is important.
