Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2024-25 Class of NABE Scholars. Please read entirely before completing the application.

The NABE Scholars Program seeks to increase diversity within the business economics profession by providing opportunities for outstanding early-career economists and economics students from groups historically underrepresented within the profession, including women, members of ethnic and racial minority groups, immigrants to the US, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals living with a disability.

The NABE Foundation plans to award twenty (20) scholarships to early-career economists and students interested in pursuing a career in applied economics to attend the following events: the 2024 NABE Foundation Economic Measurement Seminar (July 15-16, Washington, DC); the 2024 NABE Annual Meeting (September 29-October 1, Nashville, TN; the 2024 NABE Tech Economics Conference (October 27-29, Seattle, WA); the 2025 NABE Economic Policy Conference (March 2-4, Washington, DC); and one Certified Business Economist (CBE) course of their choice. In addition, a $400 travel stipend will be awarded to each recipient in two installments at two in-person events.

To be eligible, one must be a current student OR an early-career professional meeting the following criteria:

* Have worked in the economics field for seven years or less
* Currently be involved in a position that uses economic principles and theory
* Hold an undergraduate college degree or higher

NOTE: Past NABE Scholars are ineligible to apply.

To realize the full benefit of being a NABE Scholar, and so that dedicated funds for the program do not go unused, awardees should plan to attend and participate actively in as many of the events as possible, and are asked to commit to attending at least two of the four events in person.

The Foundation will award full scholarships for each event's registration costs and a total travel stipend of $400 to be paid in two installments at two in-person events. Please note that no other travel-related expenses will be reimbursed.

Please submit this application by May 5, 2024, in order to be considered prior to the NABE Foundation Economic Measurement Seminar. Awardees will be contacted by May 31, 2024. If all twenty scholarships have not been awarded at that point, applications will continue to be taken for the remaining events.

To fill out the application, please move to the next page. Please note: The application requires responses to the following essay questions:

Question #1: Tell us about your path to this point and your career goals for the next five years.

Question #2: How will attending NABE conferences and a CBE course and connecting to NABE members help you achieve your goals?

You may want to compile your responses first before moving forward.
