Information for Families
Thank you for your interest in our family focus group! If you are selected, your participation will be a valuable step in sharing your thoughts and priorities to inform the revision of California’s Child Care Quality Rating and Improvement System.
The purpose of this system is to:
- identify important aspects of quality,
- offer resources to providers for enhancing quality, and
- provide information to families to help them find early learning and care programs that best meets their needs.
Your feedback can help us make sure that the revised system makes sense and is useful for families.
If you are selected:
- You will join a 60-minute online focus group with other families to talk about your experiences. Focus groups will be held in spring 2026.
You will be eligible to receive a $125 stipend for your participation. Please complete this brief survey to help us select a diverse group of California families. Your responses will tell us about your experiences with child care, why you're interested in participating, and any accommodations you might need (like language interpretation). This information ensures our focus groups include many different perspectives and that we can properly prepare to welcome everyone who participates.
