Background information
  • About TGEU
TGEU is a membership-based network and represents more than 200 member organisations in 50 countries. TGEU’s mission is to strengthen the rights and wellbeing of trans people in Europe and Central Asia. We strive to represent the diverse needs of our members within human rights mechanisms, build the capacity and skills of our members to meet the needs of local communities, and develop intersectional and decolonised programmes to build more resilient and connected trans movements.
  • About the TGEU European and Central Asian Trans Council
The Council is the largest gathering of political trans activists in Europe and Central Asia. Bringing together around 200 participants every second year, the Council is both a forum setting the agenda for trans politics and a celebration of the trans community.

This year we are excited to welcome you to the 9th TGEU European and Central Asian Trans Council, which will be held at Salini Resort Hotel in Malta from 21 to 24 November. The Council will be hosted in collaboration with our local members, the Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement (MGRM). In the spirit of this year’s council's theme, Together: Uniting in Solidarity and Resistance, 200 trans activists, allies, policymakers, and donors are expected to gather as a community to celebrate small wins, share experiences and collectively moot strategies for advancing trans rights in the region. We are looking forward to connecting with you there! Please make sure you submit your application before the deadline on 20 October 2024 at 13:00 CET
Please note: A request to cancel a registration must be made in writing and sent to council@tgeu.org, no later than 15 October 2024. Late cancellations will incur costs in accordance with hotel policy.
