2026-2027 NIPDD Application

NIPDD applications will be accepted beginning June 4, 2026. The application period will close at 8:00 pm Central on July 6, 2026. Applications will be screened and prioritized in the following order:

1. Current Program Directors of accredited operating programs that have residents present in the year of application

2. Current Program Directors of developing programs that are accredited or are expected to receive accreditation and begin recruiting for residents in the year of application

3. Associate Program Directors who are the designated successor for the current Program Director of an accredited, operating program and expected to assume the Program Director role within 12 months

4. Current Program Directors of developing programs that have achieved accreditation but not recruiting residents in the year of application

5. Current Program Directors of developing programs that have not yet received accreditation

6. Associate Program Directors who are on a trajectory to become a Program Director but not expected to assume the role within the next 12 months

7. Residency Faculty with three (3) or more years of experience with an interest in becoming a Program Director in the future.

If there are more applicants in a priority category than available space, those who applied earliest will receive priority.

Three weeks following the close of the application process, the class roster will be announced and successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance. Full payment will be required three weeks in advance of the first session.
