Introduction
The national water and wastewater organizations comprising the Water Sector Coordinating Council (WSCC) – Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), American Water Works Association (AWWA), National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), National Rural Water Association (NRWA), Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center (WaterISAC), The Water Research Foundation (WRF), and Water Environment Federation (WEF) – urge all U.S. water and wastewater utilities to complete the anonymous survey linked below no later than November (TBD), 2025.
At the request of the WSCC, WaterISAC – the water and wastewater sector’s security information sharing organization – is hosting an anonymous survey of utilities to gather information on implementation of cybersecurity practices, needs, and challenges. This survey is an update to a similar one performed in 2021 and is open to all water and wastewater utilities in the United States.
The survey should be completed by a staff member with responsibility for cybersecurity. Your utility may receive this survey from multiple sources. To avoid duplicate responses by multiple staff, please consult internally with colleagues before completing the survey. If you have questions about this survey, please contact the national association or organization that provided it to you.
“IT” refers to information technology (enterprise network; business systems), while “OT” refers to operational technology (industrial or process control system, including SCADA).
