The “Find Your Freedom Here” Postcard Contest calls for original designs that capture the spirit of Marion County through a uniquely American lens—from rolling horse farms and historic charm to crystal-clear springs and scenic backroads. Participants are encouraged to incorporate elements of red, white, and blue, patriotic themes, and local history while highlighting the natural beauty and character of the destination.

How to Enter:
  • Capture a photo or design original artwork that reflects how freedom comes to life in Ocala/Marion County. From historic roots to natural beauty, capture the places, colors, and moments that reflect both our local story and the American spirit.
  • Photos must capture a location open to the public.
  • Fill out this form in its entirety and submit it.
Submission Guidelines:
  • Designs must be horizontal/landscape
  • High-resolution photography or original artwork only
  • Submissions must represent locations within Ocala/Marion County
  • No visible faces or identifiable individuals
  • Entries may include patriotic elements such as the American flag, red/white/blue color palettes, or historic references
  • Entries for minors (under 18) must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. By submitting, the parent/guardian agrees to the contest rules on behalf of the minor.
Contest Timeline:

Submissions will be accepted starting April 6 until April 24. Finalists will be selected by April 27, at which time, the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau will share a link to finalists to use to encourage public votes. Public voting will be from April 27 to May 1. This same voting link will also be made available to the general public through Ocala/Marion County’s official social media pages.

The winner will be announced during National Travel and Tourism Week (May 3-9, 2026).

* I hereby grant Marion County the right to use and reproduce any and all artwork, photographs, and digital images thereof, including those that might contain my name, logo, or trademark, for use by Marion County, and the right to copyright and/or use, reuse and/or publish, republish photographic pictures or digital images thereof.

I further grant Marion County permission for the artwork, photographs or digital images thereof to be used in their entirety and/or edited versions as deemed necessary by Marion County.

It is understood these items will become the property of Marion County and all rights to inspect or approve as well as any royalties or other such compensation are waived.

I grant permission for the artwork, photographs or digital images threrof to be used by Marion County at any time in the future without notice being provided and that Marion County's use may include trade, commercial and advertising purposes, to promote the product or service of Marion County, and to simply report happenings in Marion County, and may include the use of such items on Marion County websites. I further understand that the artwork, photographs, digital images, videotapes, or recordings thereof are public records and will be produced in accordance with Florida Public Records Law (Florida Statutes, Chapter 119).

I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge Marion County from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on the behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
