Fort St. James has not had a strategic plan for economic development since 2015. This does not mean that important work has not been done, but it lacked a cohesive direction and long-term plan. Who better to provide this direction than community members themselves?
The Economic Development Officer has conducted in-depth interviews with business owners/management and service providers between February and September 2026. Responses to this survey will contribute to the engagement already completed to generate an Economic Development Strategic Plan for the District. The Plan will have development goals with specific action items. We are excited for the future of Fort St. James!
