Sagkeeng CSWB Plan Survey

Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Your input will help inform the Community Safety and Well-Being Plans for Sagkeeng.

Sagkeeng is partnering with the Canadian Centre for Safer Communities (CCFSC), a national not-for-profit organization that supports communities across Canada in strengthening safety and well-being.

We want to understand how members of Sagkeeng First Nations experience safety and well-being in their daily lives, including what is working well and where there are challenges.

About This Survey
This survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Responses will be collected until June 30, 2026.

The survey includes questions about topics such as:
  • community connection and belonging
  • health and well-being
  • access to services and supports
  • safety and experiences related to crime
Please note, if you are living off reserve, some questions may ask about your experiences in your local community while others ask about your experiences on reserve in Sagkeeng.

Your participation is voluntary. You may skip any question at any time.

How Your Responses Will Be Used
The information collected in this survey, along with input from focus groups, existing data, and other sources, will be used to inform the development of Sagkeeng’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plans.

A Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is a long-term strategy that brings together different sectors to address the root causes of issues like crime and violence, and to improve overall well-being in the community. The Community Safety and Well-Being Plans for Sagkeeng will be launched publicly in Fall 2026.

Results may also be used by the Canadian Centre for Safer Communities to support related research, evaluation, and planning work as identified by the CSWB project team. All findings will be reported in summarized, non-identifying ways.

Confidentiality
All responses are anonymous.

Survey data will only be accessed by staff at the Canadian Centre for Safer Communities for the purposes of analysis. Summarized findings (such as overall trends and themes) will be shared with project partners but will not include identifying information. Responses to open-ended questions may be used as illustrative quotations in reporting back to the planning committee. Any quotations will be de-identified and will not be included in publicly available reports or materials. All data will be stored securely by CCFSC.

This survey is conducted using SurveyMonkey. This survey does not collect IP addresses. Please note that SurveyMonkey data is stored on servers located in the United States. For more information, you can review SurveyMonkey’s privacy policy here.
