Access to Finance for Tenant Farmers: Have Your Say

In a recent meeting with the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) raised concerns about tenant farmers' access to finance, particularly where a lack of security limits borrowing options with lenders. While banks have indicated a willingness to support agriculture, TFA members' experience suggests that smaller or less well-secured tenant businesses often struggle to access meaningful borrowing facilities.
The DEFRA Secretary of State has asked the TFA for further evidence so these concerns can be raised directly with banking contacts. This survey will help build that evidence base, so please share your experiences below.
The survey should take just a few minutes to complete and all responses will be treated confidentially. Thank you.
