NASW-NY CURRENTS (est. 1956) Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Issue Submission Form (Issue Release: November 2026)

The NASW-NY CURRENTS newsletter (est. 1956) is now accepting submissions for the Fall/Winter 2026-2027 issue. As the long-standing publication of the National Association of Social Workers - New York Chapter, CURRENTS continues to elevate the voices, insights, and leadership of social workers across our state.

This issue's theme, "Momentum for Change: Leading with Purpose," reflects the collective momentum generated in the year following the historic unification of the NASW-NY Chapter in July 2025. As one unified chapter, social workers across New York are advancing equity, strengthening communities, and driving meaningful change through advocacy, collaboration, and compassionate practice. The theme celebrates the enduring impact of the profession's leadership, innovation, and resilience while recognizing the progress made together and inspiring continued action to shape the future of social work across New York State.
  • Articles must align with the theme of the Fall/Winter 2026–2027 issue. Submissions that do not reflect the issue's theme will not be considered.
  • Manuscripts must be 2,500 words or fewer. Submissions exceeding this limit will not be considered.
  • Articles should be original, well-organized, and written for a broad social work audience.
  • We welcome practice-informed perspectives, clinical insights, innovative programs, policy analysis, educational experiences, student reflections, interdisciplinary collaborations, advocacy efforts, and examples of evidence-informed or community-based practice.
  • Writing should be accessible, inclusive, and relevant to NY social workers across diverse practice settings.
  • Submissions may be edited for clarity, style, length, and consistency with publication standards.

The Fall/Winter 2026-2027 issue will be released at the start of November 2026, and look forward to receiving submissions that inform, inspire, and strengthen our professional community.
