First Nations Leadership and Engagement Award - This award recognises individuals who identify as LGBTIQA+ and members of the First Nations community who have engaged in advocacy or activism for LGBTIQ+ causes.
Bizzi Lavelle
- Bizzi is a First Nations burlesque artist, producer, and community advocate working to amplify BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices in performance spaces. She has contributed to cultural education through initiatives such as Blak history in burlesque workshops and resources. Bizzi has played key roles in producing and supporting events including Miss First Nations Drag Competition and wider community arts initiatives. Her work blends activism, education, and performance to strengthen cultural awareness and inclusion.
Corey March (Chocolate Boxx)
- Corey is a pioneering First Nations drag artist, performer, and community advocate. She has been a leading force in elevating First Nations drag across Australia, including winning Miss First Nations (2019) and receiving multiple honours such as triple sash recognition at WorldPride 2023. Corey is also a member of the Metro South Health First Nations Community Jury, contributing to Indigenous health equity and culturally safe decision-making. Through her work across events such as Melt Festival and Miss First Nations, she has helped build platforms that centre First Nations excellence in performance and community leadership.
Magenta
- Magenta is a First Nations drag performer and cultural storyteller known for her warmth, presence, and contribution to the Brisbane drag scene. She continues to celebrate culture through performance while uplifting audiences and peers alike. Her work has included national visibility through media appearances and strong community recognition, including winning People’s Choice at Miss First Nations 2025. Magenta is widely regarded for bringing joy, authenticity, and cultural pride into every space she enters.
Dr Mel Saward
- Dr Mel is a proud Bigambul and Wakka Wakka woman, writer, academic, and advocate for First Nations and LGBTQIA+ communities. Her work challenges inequities in publishing and creates space for marginalised voices in literature and storytelling. She is involved in grassroots initiatives supporting incarcerated people to share and publish their stories, and her advocacy is grounded in cultural responsibility, education, and inclusion. Her leadership strengthens First Nations storytelling and community empowerment.
Dylan Barrett
- Dylan is a proud Wailwan Brotherboy and community-focused leader grounded in First Nations and LGBTQIA+ governance, care, and cultural safety. He brings a steady, thoughtful approach to building trust, strengthening systems, and supporting long-term community outcomes.
As Secretary of Brisbane Pride, Dylan contributes to organisational stability and strong governance that supports community-led work. Through the Queensland Council for LGBTI Health and 2Spirits, he also helps strengthen connections between health services and First Nations and queer communities. His leadership is defined by quiet consistency, accountability, and commitment to Mob, Brotherboys, Sistergirls, and the wider Rainbow community.
Ben Graetz (Miss Ellaneous)
- Ben is a transformative First Nations LGBTQIA+ artist, cultural leader, and producer. He is the founder of the Miss First Nation Pageant, a nationally significant platform celebrating First Nations drag excellence. Ben has played a major role in shaping queer arts in Australia through MELT Festival, Brisbane Festival, and national and international creative leadership roles. His work has consistently elevated queer Indigenous voices, created pathways for emerging performers, and positioned Brisbane as a leader in culturally grounded queer arts.
Kelsey Doyle
- Kelsey is a First Nations and queer advocate engaged in community leadership, sport, and media. He has contributed to First Nations representation in public events, parades, and community platforms, and is active in podcasts and radio discussions. Kelsey is recognised for his communication skills, visibility work, and focus on mental health and community wellbeing.
Zamira Tyson
- Zamira is an Aboriginal leader and researcher dedicated to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities. As Senior Research Technician on the Southeast Queensland Blak and Proud Study Project, she leads culturally grounded, community-led research in partnership with Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations. Zamira plays a key role in co-developing inclusive models of care that strengthen cultural safety and access in health services. Her leadership reflects Indigenous governance, collaboration, and long-term system change.
Josh Taliani
- Josh is a community leader and cultural organiser and the founder of House of Alexander. He is committed to building platforms that support First Nations and queer performance communities. His leadership focuses on creating inclusive spaces for collaboration, artistic development, and cultural expression.
Kerrie Thomsen
- Kerrie is a proud First Nations woman, acommunity leader a nd advocate known for her service to both LGBTQIA+ and broader community spaces. She is President of Dykes on Bikes Queensland and a volunteer firefighter, demonstrating strong commitment to community safety and support. Kerrie is widely respected for her selfless leadership and dedication to putting others first.
Activist of the Year - This award recognises individuals who have engaged in advocacy or activism for LGBTIQA+ causes.
Oriela
- Oriela is a disabled Lebanese non-binary lesbian and community organiser, peer worker, and disability justice advocate based in Meanjin. They are a strong advocate for LGBTQIA+ people of colour and disabled communities, using lived experience to drive systemic change across mental health and disability sectors. Oriela has been involved in organising major community actions, including protests for trans rights and Palestinian solidarity, and has spoken publicly on platforms such as 4ZZZ and at mental health conferences on trauma-informed and anti-carceral approaches to care. They have also contributed to co-design work with disability organisations and spoken on panels centring queer, disabled, and marginalised voices. Oriela’s leadership is grounded in intersectional justice, accessibility, and uplifting communities often excluded from decision-making spaces.
Henny Spaghetti
- Henny is an LGBTQIA+ community advocate and organiser known for using performance as a tool for activism and fundraising. She is the creator and driving force behind Tip @ VIP, a recurring charity performance event that has raised significant funds for trans youth, gender-affirming care, and legal support services including the LGBTI Legal Service and Open Doors Youth Service. Through Tip @ VIP, Henny brings together drag and performance artists to create accessible, affirming spaces while directly supporting vulnerable communities. Her work has raised tens of thousands of dollars and has had a measurable impact on trans youth support services in Queensland. She is widely recognised for turning community entertainment into sustained, practical activism.
Boo Deja Boo
- BOO! is a non-binary Tritant performer, organiser, and community leader who holds the title of QLD Kinkster 2025. They are a strong advocate for non-binary and trans inclusion, using performance and community organising to promote safer, more diverse queer spaces. BOO! is Secretary of Queensland Leather Pride and runs Heelfire, a non-binary-led cabaret platform showcasing diverse queer performers. Their work spans major community events including International Non-Binary Day celebrations and Queensland Leather Pride initiatives. BOO! is recognised for leadership in kink-positive, gender-diverse, and inclusive queer spaces.
Miff Trevor
- Miff is a dedicated community activist and mental health worker whose work focuses on supporting LGBTQIA+ people through care, connection, and advocacy. She is deeply respected for her humility and consistent behind-the-scenes contribution to community wellbeing. Miff provides ongoing support, guidance, and solidarity to individuals and organisations across the queer community, particularly in mental health spaces. Her impact is widely felt through her steady presence and long-term commitment to community care and resilience.
Willow
- Willow is a queer community organiser and event producer dedicated to supporting emerging LGBTQIA+ artists and building inclusive performance spaces. They have developed and run community-focused initiatives including Themme, a platform designed to bring people together through performance and fundraising for trans artists. Willow has also been recognised as a winner of Altimate Showdown Meanjin 2025 and continues to be active in producing events that centre community connection, accessibility, and opportunities for new queer performers.
Nordacious
- Nordacious is a queer visual artist and activist whose work blends pop art, political commentary, and social justice advocacy. His art addresses issues such as anti-racism, queer visibility, and government accountability, and has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including COP26, Times Square, and the Museum of Australian Democracy’s Behind the Lines exhibition. He has been a visible advocate for protest rights and artistic freedom, including publicly challenging censorship related to political artworks and highlighting the impact of hate speech laws on expression. His work has been used in community organising and activism and is part of the State Library of Queensland’s permanent collection. Nordacious was also named Artist of the Year at the 2025 Queen’s Ball.
Ren Shike
- Ren is a community-minded creative and advocate known for their consistent support of queer events, artists, and initiatives across Meanjin. They are recognised for their collaborative approach, willingness to support community projects, and commitment to standing up for inclusion, creativity, and social justice within LGBTQIA+ spaces.
Bette Benjamin
- Bette is a trans and gender diverse advocate dedicated to supporting young people and families across Queensland. She is the founder of the Support Trans Youth QLD community group and provides ongoing guidance, connection, and advocacy for families navigating gender diversity. Bette’s work focuses on ensuring trans young people are seen, supported, and affirmed. She plays a key role in community organising, resource sharing, and emotional support networks, and is widely respected for her sustained commitment to trans youth wellbeing.
Lord Sev
- Lord Sev is a drag performer, MC, and radio personality on 4ZZZ known for dynamic stage presence and strong community advocacy. They are a key figure in Brisbane’s queer performance scene, regularly hosting and performing at major events including Altimate Showdown. As a 2024 QLD Kinkster titleholder, Lord Sev is recognised for championing diverse voices across queer spaces. Their work bridges entertainment and activism, using performance and media to uplift LGBTQIA+ communities and promote inclusion.
Matilda Alexander
- Matilda is a legal and community advocate working with the LGBTI Legal Service, focusing on trans rights and access to gender-affirming healthcare in Queensland. Her work contributes to legal advocacy and systemic change efforts aimed at improving healthcare access and protecting the rights of trans and gender diverse people.
Alessa Katherine
- Alessa is a Gold Coast-based drag performer and community organiser dedicated to creating inclusive spaces for emerging LGBTQIA+ artists. She is involved in the Gold Coast Pride Collective and supports open-stage initiatives that provide opportunities for new performers. Her work focuses on accessibility, community-building, and fostering supportive environments for queer performance.
Steven Fahd
- Steven is a behind-the-scenes community advocate who uses his business and platforms to actively support LGBTQIA+ inclusion and local community initiatives. He contributes time, resources, and funding to community organisations and charity campaigns, including support for homelessness services and queer events. He played a key role in supporting the continuation and rebuilding of the Gold Coast Pride Committee, helping maintain community infrastructure and continuity during transition periods.
Ally of the Year - This award Recognises individuals who do not identify as LGBTIQA+ that have engaged in advocacy or activism for LGBTIQ+ causes and/or have shown exceptional support for the community.
Kelly Turner
- Kelly is a beloved drag mother figure in the community known for offering support, care, and guidance to emerging queens. She is widely recognised for her warmth, generosity, and consistent presence in queer performance spaces, where she provides encouragement, advice, and a sense of chosen family.
Alexis Soufoulis
- Alexis is a community-minded organiser working across Gold Coast queer events and venues to help create safer, more inclusive spaces. They are known for collaborating with performers and venues to ensure events are welcoming, accessible, and supportive for LGBTQIA+ communities.
Jan Thwaites
- Jan is a long-standing LGBTQIA+ ally with over 20 years of community involvement. She previously worked with the Queensland AIDS Council and has consistently supported activism, fundraising, and community events. Jan has raised significant funds for LGBTQIA+ organisations, including through Balls OUT Bingo Brisbane and support for the Brisbane Hustlers. She is known for ensuring events are safe, inclusive, and welcoming, and for her ongoing commitment to community wellbeing.
Paula Schimke
- Paula is a dedicated LGBTQIA+ ally known for her ongoing commitment to creating safe and inclusive community spaces. She organises weekly Rainbow Karaoke nights on Wednesdays and Fridays, which have become important social spaces for connection, belonging, and self-expression. Paula is widely respected for her consistency, kindness, and genuine care for community wellbeing. She fosters environments where people feel accepted and supported, and her events play an important role in strengthening local queer community connection.
Hugh Whitehouse
- Hugh is a photographer and documentary filmmaker dedicated to uplifting and preserving LGBTQIA+ culture in Meanjin. His work includes the award-winning documentary Welcome to Queens’ Land and the ongoing series Real King Sh!t, which highlights drag and drag king communities. Hugh has contributed extensively to documenting queer performance culture, including collaborations with the State Library of Queensland to preserve significant archives of contemporary LGBTQIA+ media. His work has helped increase visibility for local performers and ensure queer histories are recorded and accessible.
Wendy Lowe
- Wendy is a long-standing supporter of the LGBTIQ+ community and a key figure in inclusive dance education in Brisbane. As co-owner of Ashgrove Dance Studio for over 50 years, she has embedded acceptance and inclusivity into the culture of the studio. Wendy has a long history of supporting LGBTQIA+ events, including the Queens Ball, where she contributed choreography for production numbers for many years. She is widely respected for her mentorship, community connections, and sustained allyship.
Ivan Weigh
- Ivan is a community ally and father figure known for his presence at LGBTQIA+ events, where he participates in the “Free Dad Hugs” movement. He is recognised for offering comfort, kindness, and visible support to community members, contributing to a culture of safety, acceptance, and care.
Maddy Schneider
- Maddy is a key community organiser and event professional within Brisbane’s queer creative scene. She plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in managing operations, front-of-house coordination, and safety across numerous LGBTQIA+ events and productions. Her work includes co-producing shows such as Swamplesque and The Stripsons, supporting tours and major events, and ensuring safe, well-run spaces across venues including In The Dark events and other queer productions. Maddy is widely trusted as a stabilising and supportive force in the community.
Zoe Graham
- Zoe is a cultural leader and CEO of the Museum of Brisbane who has demonstrated strong commitment to amplifying trans and gender diverse voices through major cultural programming. She led the development of Shimmer, a landmark exhibition centring trans and gender diverse young people. Her leadership enabled the project to reach over 100,000 people through gallery and city-wide installations as part of MELT Festival 2025. Zoe is recognised for courageous, values-driven leadership that centres authenticity, inclusion, and visibility for marginalised communities.
Mel Sutherland (Mama Louking)
- Mel is a community photographer and supporter of Brisbane’s drag and queer performance scene. She is known for capturing and sharing vibrant, respectful photography of performers, helping celebrate and preserve queer artistry. Mel is also recognised for her nurturing presence in community spaces, often providing emotional support and encouragement. She contributes both creatively and personally to building inclusive, affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ performers and audiences.
Tanya Nguyen

Tanya is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist who has created a safe, affirming, and inclusive health space for trans and gender diverse people at Performotion in Teneriffe. She founded and runs the Core Collective, a twice-weekly group exercise program designed specifically for trans and gender diverse participants, combining clinical care with community connection. Tanya is highly valued for her allyship, accessibility, and commitment to improving health outcomes and wellbeing for trans communities.
Christine Lox
- Christine is a straight ally who actively contributes to creating safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities across Brisbane and Sydney. She regularly attends and supports queer events, drag shows, and productions, offering consistent presence and support. She is recognised for her commitment to ensuring queer spaces remain welcoming, respectful, and safe for all community members.
Young Achievement Award - This award recognises individuals aged 25 years and under who have made a significant contribution to the LGBTIQA+ community.
Emma Stratton (Dilemma
)
- Emma is a multidisciplinary LGBTQIA+ artist, performer, and producer working across drag, film, theatre, photography, and burlesque. She is the creator of Clutch, a lesbian-focused performance and community space that centres queer women and non-binary people, which has rapidly grown into a sold-out recurring event series. Emma is also involved in narrative storytelling and documentary work, contributing to projects such as Welcome to Queens’ Land and Real King Sh!t. Her practice consistently focuses on creating safer, more visible, and affirming spaces for queer communities through both performance and media.
Elle Would
- Elle is a young, high-achieving drag performer and emerging leader in Brisbane’s LGBTQIA+ scene, known for her professionalism, stage presence, and rapid rise within the community. Despite balancing university, employment, and frequent performances, she has built an impressive performance record across competitions, production shows, and regular bookings at venues such as The Beat Mega Club and DWTQ Entertainment. Her achievements include winning Dragged Out AU 2025, Frock Off Fridays 2025, 7 Deadly Sins Drag Competition (runner-up and fan favourite), and multiple other competition placements. Elle is also a consistent supporter of other performers and emerging artists, regularly attending and uplifting community events.
Eraya 51

Eraya 51 is a highly accomplished young drag performer, producer, and event organiser who has rapidly become a key figure in Brisbane’s queer performance scene. In just a few years, they have produced multiple major shows and events including So Fresh, Circle of Six, Mayhem Ball afterparty, and A Night at the Cabaret, while also working in venue entertainment and production roles at The Wickham. Eraya is known for combining creative performance with strong organisational leadership, often supporting other artists through production, choreography, and behind-the-scenes work. They have also competed in multiple drag competitions and maintain a strong presence across major Brisbane queer events including Pride and Big Gay Day. Their work reflects both artistic excellence and significant contribution to building and sustaining queer performance infrastructure.
Jackson Lester
- Jackson is a 19-year-old fashion artist and founder of Lester Fashion. Launching his label at 15, he has built a reputation for bold, expressive designs that celebrate LGBTQIA+ joy. He completed a Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising in 2024 and was named Rising Star at Rise to the Runway. In 2025, he debuted his Drag’d Out collection and produced his own runway, while also contributing to film and television projects.
Jodie Hall
- Jodie is a leading advocate and organiser, and the driving force behind Trans Justice Meanjin—a trans-led movement dedicated to advancing freedom, justice, and equality for trans and gender diverse communities. Jodie gained international attention for co-creating and helping unveil the world’s largest transgender flag—an 800-square-metre installation revealed on Trans Day of Visibility—symbolising visibility, solidarity, and collective power.
Lily Campbell Ferguson
- Lily is an emerging advocate whose lived experience reflects a rarely recognised part of LGBTQIA+ history—growing up in a same-sex parent household before legal recognition. Raised in Brisbane by two non-biologically related fathers, her story has helped challenge stigma and broaden understanding of diverse families. Her family’s experience was referenced in a Queensland parliamentary speech during the passage of same-sex adoption laws, placing her story within the wider movement for equality. Lily also founded her school’s first Wear It Purple Day in 2019, an initiative that continues today, and she remains a strong voice for inclusion and representation.
Ladybird
- Ladybird is a dynamic drag performer and creative, known for both her on-stage presence and behind-the-scenes work in stage management and wardrobe. A strong role model within the LGBTQIA+ community, she brings versatility and professionalism to every project. Currently reigning Miss Sporties, she has won Queer Sister Smackdown (2022) and Rumble in the Jungle (2024), and has performed alongside major acts including RuPaul’s Werq the World tour and Juno Birch. A member of Drag Brunch Club and Sopop, Ladybird also holds a Bachelor of Technical Production (Honours) from QUT (2025).
Community Social Group - This award recognises groups who run, organise and/or host social events for the LGBTIQA+ community (excludes sporting or community support groups)
Queensland Pups & Handlers (Q-pah)
- Q-Pah has been providing a space for pups, handlers, pets and anyone who wishes to find their own space that fits outside the norms, for the last 10 years. Q-Pah has grown into a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for everyone to form long lasting friendships and explore their pup sides without fear of judgement or persecution. Q-Pah has been hosting 2 events a month every month for the last 2 years, providing these spaces to the community and giving the community some much needed relaxation and respite from the day to day lives. Q-PAH’s special because they are fully inclusive to all genders and sexual orientations, pets and anyone who just wants to come along and have a great time.
Gold Coast Pride Collective
- A not-for-profit organisation creating inclusive Pride events on the Gold Coast with a strong focus on harm prevention and community wellbeing. They are actively rebuilding Pride in the region while supporting broader LGBTQIA+ causes through fundraising, including World AIDS Day and The Lavender Corner.
QLD Camping Bears
- One of Queensland’s largest LGBTQIA+ outdoor social communities, providing inclusive, low-cost, alcohol-optional events such as camping trips, hikes, and social gatherings. The group focuses on belonging, accessibility, and connection, particularly for people in regional and underrepresented communities. With over 2,000 members, they foster strong peer support, wellbeing, and chosen family networks across the state.
Dykes on Bikes
- Dykes on Bikes QLD is a visibility and advocacy group that proudly represents and supports the rainbow community through pride events, motorbike rallies, and public presence. They champion inclusion, visibility, and community pride
Lush Drag Events
- A regional Toowoomba-based drag production showcasing both emerging and established performers. The group plays a key role in developing local talent and expanding access to drag culture in regional Queensland.
Gold Coast Lesbian Catchups
- A community-led social group that creates safe and accessible meetups for lesbians and sapphic people on the Gold Coast. The group supports people attending alone, helping reduce isolation and building lasting friendships and community connection.
Sapphic Socials
- A community initiative dedicated to creating inclusive spaces for lesbian and sapphic women. It provides regular social events designed to build connection, friendship, and visibility for sapphic communities.
OutExploring
- An inclusive LGBTQIA+ travel and social group that brings people together through shared holiday experiences and events. The group fosters connection across diverse ages, backgrounds, and identities through accessible and community-focused travel.
Pride in Law
- A professional LGBTQIA+ organisation supporting legal professionals through networking, education, and community-building events. It promotes inclusion and visibility within the legal sector while strengthening professional queer networks.
Brisbane LGBT Socials
- A large community network that facilitates connection among LGBTQIA+ people across Brisbane and Queensland. It provides social events and an online space for discussion, support, and belonging, helping people build friendships and community ties.
Gay Skate
- An inclusive LGBTQIA+ skating community that hosts regular social skate events for all ages and identities. It provides a safe, welcoming space for recreation, connection, and community-building while also supporting queer advocacy and fundraising initiatives.
Clutch
- Clutch is a queer-run created for queer people, offering one of Brisbane’s first dedicated safe spaces for lesbian, queer, and gender non-conforming communities. Since launching, it has consistently sold out, with overwhelmingly positive feedback highlighting its impact and importance. Driven by a passionate and emerging team, Clutch is as much about community as it is celebration—creating inclusive, affirming spaces where people can connect and express themselves freely. Their commitment to sustainability is also reflected in their merchandise, with thrifted pieces thoughtfully customised, blending creativity with environmental consciousness.
Trans Joy Meanjin
- Trans Joy Meanjin is a community-led initiative creating safe, welcoming spaces for trans and gender diverse people through regular social gatherings. By bringing together arts, crafts, and board games, they foster connection, creativity, and a sense of belonging. Focused on joy, inclusion, and peer support, Trans Joy Meanjin plays a vital role in strengthening community and providing affirming spaces where people can relax, connect, and be themselves.
Queensland Leather Pride
- A long-standing, trans and women-led organisation spearheaded by Lord Sev, this group fosters growth, visibility, inclusion, and collaboration within the Queensland leather and kink communities. They produce key community events including Brisbane Leather Week and titles such as Ms QLD Leather, Leather Girl, and QLD Kinkster, creating platforms for women, trans, and non-binary people. Through monthly kink socials, market collaborations, and educational spaces, the group champions inclusive leadership and strengthens connection across the Brisbane leather scene.
Dungeons and Flagons
- Dungeons and Flagons is a weekly social group held every Sunday at the Waterloo Hotel, run by Brian Ablaze and Conor Brennan. Open and inclusive to all, it fosters community through tabletop gameplay. The group is especially welcoming to queer people, including those with disabilities, creating a safe and accessible space for connection, friendship, and belonging regardless of gender, ability, or background.

Open Doors Youth Service
(ODYS)
- Open Doors Youth Service (ODYS) supports LGBTIQ+ SB young people aged 12 to 25 and
is the only service of its kind in Queensland. ODYS is dedicated to empowering LGBTIQ+ SB young people to live with pride as valued, celebrated, and authentic members of community. Engaging a workforce with lived experience and professional expertise. Providing safe spaces for young people to connect with peers and community to foster a sense of belonging. Improving mental health outcomes and lowering suicidality for LGBTIQA+SB young people.
2Spirits & QC Art Therapy Group
- 2Spirits & QC Art Therapy Group is a trauma-informed creative space supporting LGBTIQAP+SB communities through art therapy and connection. Facilitated by Mikarla Teague, it has run for over five years, helping participants reduce isolation, explore identity, and build resilience in a safe, affirming environment. It also contributes to community projects like Brisbane Pride banners, strengthening visibility and connection.
Queensland Positive People (QPP)
- Queensland Positive People provides peer-led support, education, and advocacy for people living with HIV in Queensland. They work to reduce stigma and improve wellbeing through connection, information, and community support.
Diverse Voices
- Diverse Voices is a long-standing LGBTQIA+ peer support organisation in Queensland offering counselling, support services, and advocacy. They provide vital safe spaces for people experiencing isolation, crisis, or family and relationship challenges.
Free Mum Hugs
- Free Mum Hugs is a community-led group that provides visible, affirming support to LGBTQIA+ people at pride events and public gatherings. They create safe, welcoming moments of care, acceptance, and love across Queensland and beyond.

- Ali volunteered thousands of hours of work to organise and deliver the Loud & Proud Logan LGBTIQA+ festival, as well as the Safe Spaces Logan campaign.
Dylan Barrett
- Dylan has led Many Genders One Voice for the past nine years, playing a key role in sustaining the Trans Community Awards and delivering major events such as Trans Fair Day and Transgender Day of Remembrance vigils. Their work has also driven visible acts of recognition, including lighting the Story Bridge in trans colours for Transgender Day of Visibility and Transgender Day of Remembrance, strengthening awareness, pride, and community connection.

Brisbane Hustlers
- The Brisbane Hustlers are a cornerstone of inclusive rugby, originally founded in 2004 and reestablished in 2012. Recent achievements include winning the Purchas Cup, the premier gay rugby championship across Australia and New Zealand, and ongoing work toward hosting the Bingham Cup in 2026.
Team Brisbane Tennis
- Team Tennis Brisbane is one of Queensland’s most active and enduring LGBTQIA+ sporting communities, providing a welcoming and inclusive space for players of all skill levels for over 15 years. With a strong and growing membership, the club fosters connection, visibility, and belonging through sport. The club delivers one of Queensland’s largest LGBTQIA+ tennis tournaments, attracting over 200 players annually as the state’s only sanctioned GLTA event. Alongside this, regular weekly play creates an inclusive environment where beginners and competitive players alike can thrive.
The Brisbane Tritons
- The Brisbane Tritons Water Polo Club offers a safe, inclusive environment where members can stay active, build confidence, and form meaningful connections. Mara is an in-demand burlesque artist and MC, host of the award winning Cult: The Show, co-producer of altimate SHOWDOWN and tutor at The Bombshell Burlesque Academy.
