Project Purpose: The purpose of this planning effort is to strengthen the Roosevelt Road business district by developing a vision for a more cohesive, accessible, and thriving area.
Who's Involved: This effort is collaboratively led by the Berwyn Development Corporation and the Village of Oak Park. We are working with a team of urban designers, zoning experts, transportation planners, and economic development specialists to ensure that we are holistically preparing recommendations and solutions for a stronger corridor.
What to Expect: The final plan will include strategies and design concepts related to economic development, transportation improvements, streetscape beautification, and urban design - all focused on enhancing Roosevelt Road and creating an even more thriving and livable business district.
Project Study Area: The study area spans between Harlem Avenue to the west and Austin Boulevard to the east. The corridor is made up of many vibrant businesses and essential amenities that serve the Berwyn, Oak Park, and Cicero communities.
