How long is each group?
Each group is 90 minutes long. It meets weekly for 5 weeks.
When will this group be held?
Mind Over Matter will be offered on a regular basis. By completing this interest form, you will be added to a waiting list and will be contacted directly when the next available group is scheduled.
Where will this group be held?
It will be held virtually only using Zoom. If you have never used Zoom before, we can help you set it up before the group starts.

Week 1: The Mind-Body Connection- Learn about the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and body, including relaxation strategies to combat cancer-related stress.
Week 2: Our Values- Explore how we can make choices aligned with what is most important to us.
Week 3: Reframing- Learn how to use our personal strengths to gain a new perspective on challenging situations.

Week 5: Making a Plan- Create a plan for managing tough situations using all the new skills in your toolbox.
Things to know:
- Since Mind Over Matter is an interactive, small group series, we ask that you plan to commit to all 5 weeks as best as possible.
- While this group will teach skills for coping with cancer, it is not therapy or medical advice.
- Mind Over Matter was developed by Inova Peterson Life with Cancer. GO2 facilitators were trained by Inova and now offer the program exclusively for the lung cancer community.
