Let's talk about student success!

Oregon's Student Success Act, a historic reinvestment in our public schools, was signed into law this spring.
When fully implemented, the Student Success Act will provide about $1 billion in additional funds for early learning and K–12 education each year.
About half of the funds will go directly to Oregon public schools, through the Student Investment Account, to make improvements in four key areas: increasing instructional time, addressing health and safety needs, reducing class sizes, and providing a well-rounded education.

Eugene School District 4J expects to access about $12–13 million per year to invest in educational improvements aligned with the district's community-informed 4J Vision 20/20 Strategic PlanOur school district must develop a plan for how to invest these additional funds to best support student success, and we cannot write this plan alone. We need staff, student, family and community voices in this conversation to help guide our spending plan. We want to hear from everyone, and to make sure all students are represented.

The first step is to assess our current needs. We want to know your
thoughts on what we are doing well and what we could improve in our schools. Input is being sought through face-to-face community forums, meetings with stakeholder groups, and online surveys such as this one. All responses will be helpful as we undertake this important process.

This survey includes three sections of questions and may take about 10–15 minutes to complete, depending on how many comments you choose to include:
• Your views on what is working well and what could be improved
• A few quick questions about you and your relationship with Eugene School District 4J

• Plus a final opportunity to provide additional comments or questions

A summary of the input received will be shared with the community and the Oregon Department of Education, and will help inform our planning for these funds to improve supports for students. Survey responses are anonymous.

Thank you for sharing your voice to help strengthen public education in Eugene School District 4J. We will ask for more community input before completing the plan. Your input is an investment in our students’ future.
