Prosper ISD is exploring a new option for the
2027-2028 school year -- A High School Hybrid Program. In simple terms: it would let 11th and 12th grade students take some of their classes in person on campus, and some of their classes online — with a real, certified teacher available for support as needed. A student might take some courses in a traditional classroom setting, while completing others online whenever it fits their schedule that day, checking in with a teacher as needed.
Who Is This For?This option is meant for students who are self-motivated and comfortable working independently, or who would do well with some added flexibility, but who still benefit from having a teacher they can reach out to for support. It's not a fully independent, on-your-own program. Think of it as a stepping stone: more independence than a typical school day, but still connected to Prosper ISD and supported by a certified teacher.
How Would It Work?
- A student would take a required combination of in-person and online classes.
- Students will still have 8 courses on their schedule.
- In-person classes will take place during regular school hours.
- Online classes, however, offer more flexibility—students can complete coursework after school hours, though teachers will not be available for questions outside of the school day.
- In the first year, only a limited number of online classes will be offered to juniors and seniors— based on what students say they're most interested in. Not every subject will be available online right away, but the list may grow in future years and possibly include other grade levels
