1. Invitation to Participate in the Memory Twin Alliance Survey

We invite you to contribute to an important 15-minute survey exploring the future of cultural heritage digitisation. Building on the European Commission-funded VIGIE2020/654 study on quality in 3D digitisation, the ongoing EU funded Horizon HERITALISE project, and in cooperation with EU HE eArchiving Initiative-eArk project and the IIIF 3D Technical Specification Group, this new initiative seeks to go beyond Digital Twins by introducing the Memory Twin concept - an evolution of 3D digitisation that integrates data, metadata, paradata, and interpretative layers within a broader organisational and strategic framework.

The Memory Twin builds upon HHBIM and 3D models of both movable and immobile cultural heritage, aiming to support long-term preservation, contextual interpretation, and meaningful reuse of digital assets. This survey extends the scope to include not only museums but also libraries, archives, NGOs, and research institutions, focusing on both 2D and 3D digitisation efforts.

Your insights will help assess institutional readiness, uncover barriers and opportunities, and inform future strategies and policies for capacity building and cross-sector collaboration.

Whether you are a curator, researcher, technologist, or policymaker, your input will directly influence the development of next-generation standards and methodologies for digital cultural heritage.

We thank you in advance for your valuable contribution to shaping the future of heritage digitisation.
