Your experience and perceptions of how the Official Information Act (OIA) is working are important to us, and will contribute to improvements in OIA policies and practices.

Please only proceed with this survey if you have submitted a request for information to the Treasury within the last 6 - 12 months.  

Depending on how you answer some of the questions, this survey should take 5 – 10 minutes to complete.

The purpose of this survey
This survey is designed to assist the Chief Ombudsman with his investigation of how the Treasury processes OIA requests. It seeks the experiences and perceptions of people who have made OIA requests to the Treasury in the past 6 to 12 months.

This survey will be open online from Tuesday 9 October 2018 until Friday 16 November 2018.

Privacy and confidentiality
Replies to all the surveys will be held in confidence by the Office of the Ombudsman, and are not subject to disclosure under the Official Information Act. Individual survey responses will not be disclosed and your identity will remain confidential, however, aggregate data and unattributed comments may appear in the Chief Ombudsman’s investigation report, which will be published.

In order to ensure the integrity of the surveys, you will be asked to provide your email address, so that the responses can be validated or follow up queries sent to you if necessary.

If you choose not to provide your email or name, we will be unable to make use of your response to our survey, as we cannot rely on anonymous responses.

Please be aware that no comments you make in this survey will be interpreted by this Office as a complaint against the agency. If you wish to make a complaint to us about a particular act or decision of the Treasury you can do so via the link below:
