Neighborhood Bikeway

2nd Ave is proposed to become a neighborhood bikeway. Neighborhood bikeways include design changes that help to maintain low traffic volumes and speeds, and often allow for parking to largely be maintained throughout the corridor. They also include added signage and pavement markings to communicate the shared condition of the road. By slowing down vehicles and discouraging cut through traffic, neighborhood bikeways become comfortable shared streets which are prioritized for people walking, biking, and making local vehicle trips.
