The Park Triangle Committee invites the community to share input on phase 1 of a greenway plan for Wilkinsburg. A greenway is a corridor for recreational use and/or environmental protection.
Phase 1 includes ideas for making Hunter and Taft Way a safe, active recreational corridor.
Located half of a block off East Swissvale Avenue near the Family Dollar, improvements to these alleys will enhance pedestrian and bicycle connections to nearby destinations, celebrate the character of the community, and explore opportunities to increase habitat for pollinators.
This effort is intended to serve as a model for how similar improvements could be extended to other alleys throughout Wilkinsburg, creating a broader network of greenways that strengthen connectivity, support ecological health, and enhance the overall character of the community.
