What is CPCHE Certification?The Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity (CPCHE)
TM credential establishes core standards for the field of clinical health equity, benchmarks competencies necessary for professionals in clinical health equity, and sets an expected proficiency level. The CPCHE credential sets the standard for individuals committed to delivering equitable care. Developed by the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS), CPCHE is the first psychometrically sound certification for clinical health equity professionals.

Who Should Apply?Any professional working in or around health equity in a clinical setting who is able to demonstrate need is encouraged to apply. Applicants must also possess academic and professional experience at one of the following levels, as stipulated by CPCHE eligibility requirements:
- Two years of experience (equivalent to 4,100 hours) advancing clinical health equity as an integral component of current professional responsibilities, over the most recent four years. Experience can include the following as long as it demonstrates experience advancing, educating, and/or learning about clinical health equity: Education, Clinical Experience, Advocacy, Patient Navigation, Community Health Work, Public Health, and Research.
How to ApplyApplicants will be expected to complete an application and submit all materials including:
- Contact and organizational application form (Section I)
- Resume or curriculum vitae (Section II)
- Personal statement (Section III)
Selection Criteria
- Prior training and experience and/or demonstrated interest in developing and implementing health equity initiatives
- Statement of the applicant’s personal and/or career goals and how the CPCHE certification will support them and their organization
- Demonstration of organizational and/or personal need
