FAO/INFOODS is updating its Food Composition Database on Fish & Shellfish (the database is referred to as uFiSh). User needs and suggestionswill inform and help us to set priorities for the update of uFiSh.
Here is a brief summary of the current uFiSh Version 1.0:
uFiSh compositional data of aquatic species is a collection of direct analytical measurements from peer-reviewed articles and unpublished laboratory reports, and harmonized according to international standards and guidelines. Missing values were completed with data from national food composition tables and databases.
uFiSh1.0 reports a complete set of nutrients (including a range of measures for energy, and different macronutrients, key minerals and vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids) for fish and shellfish species which are frequently consumed worldwide.
