Building Sustainable Futures Artist Interest Form

CFEVA's Building Sustainable Futures initiative, funded by the William Penn Foundation, documents the labor and economic realities of Philadelphia visual artists — with particular focus on those in underrepresented communities, who have historically faced systemic barriers to traditional arts institutions and opportunities. BSF involves conducting research focused specifically on visual artists in the Philadelphia region, artist-led pilots, development of a digital toolkit, community events, and policy advocacy.

This form registers your interest in staying informed about and/or participating in this initiative. You can indicate on this form your interest in receiving updates and invitations to gatherings, focus groups, one-on-one interviews, workshops, and related community events, all rooted in the work, wages and wellness of Philadelphia's visual artists. In addition, completing this form will ensure you receive the Philadelphia Visual Artists' Work, Wages, and Wellness survey once launched, covering topics connected to income, employment, benefits, unpaid and underpaid labor, studio space, art coops and collaboratives, residencies, health and wellness.

Building Sustainable Futures activities over the next few months will also include focus groups, one-on-one interviews, professional workshops, and community events. Focus groups and individual interviews are paid engagements. Professional workshops and community events will be free to all participating artists. Participation is entirely voluntary and separate from the survey.
