SCRHA Violence & Harassment Survey

SCRHA is conducting a short anonymous survey to better understand whether violence, threats, harassment, and other safety concerns involving tenants are becoming more common on rental housing properties. The goal is to gather local data about incidents affecting housing providers, property managers, maintenance workers, and tenants, and determine whether these situations are isolated or part of a broader trend.

This information may help support future advocacy efforts, media outreach, and member education initiatives. Your participation will help ensure the experiences of housing providers, and the broader rental housing community are represented in ongoing conversations about housing and public safety.
1.Compared to five years ago, do you believe hostile or threatening behavior by tenants have become more common?
2.Have you or your staff ever felt physically unsafe while carrying out rental housing responsibilities?
3.Have your tenants ever reported feeling unsafe due to another tenant’s behavior?
4.In the past five years, have you experienced a situation in which a tenant’s behavior included threats, harassment, intimidation or violence or other actions that created safety concerns on a rental property?
