Survey: Speed Reduction on Local Roads in the Town of Sidney

In response to community concerns, the Town is considering reducing speed limits on local roads from 50km/h to 30km/h to improve safety for road users, including drivers and people walking, cycling and rolling.

Survey responses will help Council determine whether there is broad public support for this change, and other speed reduction measures.
1.All municipal roads in BC have a speed limit of 50km/h unless posted otherwise. Do you support lowering speed limits on all local roads in Sidney from 50 km/hr to 30 km/h?

2.Speed limit signage can increase awareness of speed limits and make these limits easier to enforce. However, new signage requires an upfront investment, and some residents prefer to avoid sign clutter.

If lower speed limits were introduced on local roads in Sidney, what would be your preferred approach to signage?
3.Traffic calming infrastructure maybe considered as part of an effort to reduce traffic speed in Sidney.
