2026 Summer Camp Youth Leaders-in-Training Application Form
About UNA’s Adventure Camps Ages: 5-7 and 8-11 Ignite your inner adventurer at Summer Adventures Camp! Campers can expect team games, sports, arts and crafts, science experiments, playground time and more! Adventurers will explore the UBC area on out-trips to locations like Pacific Spirit Park, local playgrounds, and more. Campers should wear clothes they are comfortable running around in and that can get messy during arts and crafts. This camp will go outdoors rain or shine, please ensure campers are prepared for the weather. We recommend a hat for the sun and rain jacket and layers for the rain. All campers must bring a packed lunch, two snacks, and water.
Job Description Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of two (2) weeks of volunteering for our summer camp program (volunteer hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, 30-minute break). All volunteers are required to attend a training day prior to volunteering. Volunteers will be supervised by Camp Leaders (staff members). Volunteer responsibilities will include:
Assisting Camp Leaders in running camp activities
Setting up before activities and cleaning up after activities
Engaging and supervising campers
Uphold, encourage, and model the established rules and expectations of the camp
Helping to maintain a safe and positive camp environment at all times
Qualities we look for:
Enjoy working with children (having experience is a plus!)
Reliable and ability to work well with others
Great time management skills
Ability to take feedback

Mandatory Orientation Training: Friday, June 27, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Wesbrook Community Centre
Volunteer Appreciation Event: Friday, August 28 at 4:00 PM

Application Requirements: Complete application by Monday, April 13, 2026. Teacher/Mentor Recommendation: Select someone that can speak to your skills and ability to interact and work with others Applicants will be notified by Friday, April 24, 2026. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in group interviews during the first 2 weeks of May. Please note: For youth ages 16+, CRC background checks are required.
