2027 NSVLC Workshop Proposal

We are thrilled that you are interested in applying to present at Victim Rights Law Center’s National Sexual Violence Law Conference (NSVLC)! The conference will be March 9-10, 2027 in New Orleans, LA. The NSVLC will feature workshops for both attorneys and legal advocates. Attendance will be capped at 250 professionals.

We ask that proposals fit into one of the following categories:

  • Accessibility and Inclusion: Proposals for this category should focus on accessibility and inclusion in the delivery of direct services, organizational practices, or the systems survivors navigate.

  • Sustainability in the Work: Proposals for this area may include practices that promote sustainability on an individual or organizational level. Sessions should focus on practices, tools, and strategies being used to prevent burnout, foster mental and physical wellness, and incorporate equity into the foundation of the anti- sexual violence movement.

  • Alternative and Innovative Responses to Sexual Violence: Proposals in this category should highlight innovative and alternative responses to sexual violence, both on an individual and systemic level. Examples may include restorative practices, transformative justice, alternatives to prosecution, or other innovative responses.

  • Emerging Issues: Proposals should focus on new and emerging issues that are impacting survivors including technology, abortion care and reproductive rights, legislative trends, etc.

Conference presenters are expected to provide interactive workshops with learning objectives, educational activities, and opportunities to ask questions. Presenters commit to creating accessible and inclusive workshop materials (VRLC will aid in making materials accessible, if needed).
