Hello from CIWI--A Summer Internship Program.

What is CIWI?

Construction Industry Workforce Initiative (CIWI) is a summer internship program targeted to:
  • First Generation college students (18 to 25 years old +/-).
  • College Students enrolled in two- to four-year colleges.
  • Students pursuing degrees in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical), Real Estate Development, Construction, Business Development, Sustainability, Community Development.

The CIWI summer internship program includes the following core components:
  1. A three-month internship (June through August 2026, approximately) with some of the Bay Area's largest and most active real estate, design, and construction firms.
  2. Numerous opportunities to gain a greater understanding of the Bay Area real estate, design, and construction industries.
  3. Make new friends and future business contacts.

CIWI, Construction Industry Workforce Initiative, is a small, community-based program, located in SF’s Bayview neighborhood (District 10).

Its mission and purpose is to create opportunities for high school and college students from economically challenged Bay Area communities, including support for students to become the first college graduates in their families. CIWI internships build a vibrant and knowledgeable workforce in the construction, real estate and design industries.
