Each year at the Northwest Public Employees Diversity Conference, we honor exceptional diversity work through the Robert Phillips Regional Diversity Award. The award is given to an employee, work group, team or department that demonstrates a respect for, and commitment to, diversity that goes beyond their day-to-day job performance. The award recipient(s) have championed for or played an important role in promoting equity in the workplace or the community.
The namesake of this award, Robert Phillips, worked in the area of equal employment opportunity for over 25 years and had been involved in civil rights, developing policy initiatives, plans and programs that promoted respectful work environments for diverse employees. He served on numerous boards, and left a legacy of successful programs and outcomes.
Embracing the spirit by which Mr. Phillips poured out so much for creating an inclusive workplace, we thank you for your recognition of the contribution of another public employee, work group, team or department towards this cause.
