Introduction

Thank you for participating in the National and Regional Weed Science Societies survey of the most common and troublesome weeds in the U.S. and Canada. Your expertise is important and will be invaluable in highlighting weed species trends over time.

We would like you to list the five most common and troublesome weeds for as many of the broadleaf crops as you feel comfortable with. This year, we will be surveying weeds in the following 13 broadleaf crops:

1)Alfalfa
2) Canola
3) Cotton
4) Fruits & Nuts
5) Hemp
6) Peanuts
7) Pulses- field pea, chickpea, lentil, etc..
8) Soybean
9) Sugarbeet
10) Vegetables- Cole crops
11) Vegetables- Cucurbits
12) Vegetables- Fruiting
13) Vegetables- Other

Common weeds refer to those weeds you most frequently see, while troublesome weeds are those that are most difficult to control (but may not be widespread).

When listing your weeds, please be as specific as possible, i.e. use the Latin name according to the Weed Science Society of America's Composite List of Weeds: http://wssa.net/weed/composite-list-of-weeds/
