Nomination Form for Highlighted Schools/Programs

The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is seeking nominations for successful K-12 educational practices to be highlighted at the 2019 Mega Conference.  The conference will be held May 3-5, 2019 at Harvey's Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno, and the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE). This year’s Mega Conference theme is The New Nevada- Expanding Equitable Opportunities for ALL. In addition to featuring national speakers, the NDE will be selecting a number of Nevada schools/programs to present on innovative programs and practices that support every students’ success. 
The featured areas are: 
  • Enhancing Technological and Education Innovations and Supports, including blending old and new practices as well as building educator capacity
  • Recognizing Diversity and Providing Equitable Programs and Supports for All Learners, including diversity, equity, brain-based learning and support for students receiving special education services
  • Ensuring Successful Outcomes for All Students, including Literacy by 3, College & Career and life ready, strategies that work, and culture that supports learning

If you would like to nominate a school or program whose practices the NDE should consider highlighting, please complete the nomination form.  The NDE will review the nominations along with their existing data, and then finalists will be invited to participate in a telephone interview with NDE staff during the week of February 4, 2019.
At the conclusion of this process, a limited number of Nevada schools and programs will be selected to share practices at the 2019 Mega Conference as a Nevada Highlighted School/Program.  The selected schools/programs will have all travel and registration fees covered for two team members, as well as receive a $150 speaking fee.  Nominations will be accepted until December 14, 2018.
