An abstract is a brief summary of your work. The abstract must be no longer than 300 words, single spaced.

according to the following guidelines:
• Format: Microsoft Word format
• Font: Arial, 12 point
• Margins: 1 inch on all sides
• Spacing: Single-spaced. Double space between paragraphs, but do not indent
• Justification: Left
• Abstract body length: No more than 300 words
• Type the title first, using sentence casing (only first word and proper nouns capitalized)
• Italicize scientific names of organisms
• List all authors, institutional affiliations, and short addresses (city and state only)
• Bold the names of the author(s) presenting the work
• Include applicable credentials for all authors, including students and mentors (e.g., MD, DO, PhD, MPH, MS-II, OMS-I)

An effective abstract is:
Accurate: Ensure that the abstract correctly reflects the purpose and content of your presentation. Do not include any additional information that does not appear in the body of your presentation.
Self-contained: Define all abbreviations and acronyms. Spell out names of tests, drugs, etc. Define unique terms. Paraphrase rather than quote.
Concise & Specific: Make it maximally informative; especially the lead sentence. Be as brief as possible.
Coherent & Readable: Write in clear prose. Use the present tense to describe results continuing applicability.
