The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare (the Commission) has developed an initial draft of the National Safety and Quality Standards for Assisted Reproductive Technology Services. The Commission is seeking feedback from sector stakeholders including, but not limited to:
- Healthcare professionals (including fertility specialists)
- Laboratory professionals (including clinical embryologists)
- Peak bodies (including advocacy and industry bodies)
- Researchers
- Accreditation agencies and assessors
- Government agencies (including regulators)
- Consumers and people with lived experience
The Commission develops National Safety and Quality Standards and accreditation schemes for health care organisations such as hospitals and day procedure centres, primary healthcare organisations, mental health services and cosmetic surgery services.

As part of wider reform into the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) sector, we have been asked to develop new national standards for ART. The Standards will apply to all ART service providers.
