Supportive Workplace Award

Three local agencies are working together to recognize area companies that provide a supportive environment for their workforce. A supportive workplace gives employees additional resources and assistance to address problems before they affect productivity. Supportive practices help the company’s bottom line, by increasing retention and attracting high quality workers.

The Traverse Bay Poverty Reduction Initiative (PRI), Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, and Traverse Area Human Resources Association (TAHRA), are pleased to present the Supportive Workplace Awards.

Supportive practices may:
• Promote innovation and teamwork among workers;
• Effectively retain workers and encourage upward mobility;
• Result in positive attendance and reliability;
• Leverage partnerships with community resources;
• Support workers, especially those on a lower income scale.

Nominations will be accepted online through May 1, 2015. Any company or individual may nominate a workplace for the award. Three nominations will be selected for Supportive Workplace Awards. All responses will be shared anonymously, in aggregate.
