Responding to ACMC's Economic Proposal

After sitting on UAPD's comprehensive economic proposal for over one month, on August 9th the Alameda County Medical Center finally presented their counter proposal...and it was outrageous!

For Ambulatory Care physicians, the Medical Center proposed 0% in the current fiscal year and a 0-2% “possible” performance pay increase based on patient satisfaction scores, which would exclude physician input into the types of questions asked. This pay is conditioned on the doctor achieving perfect attendance at the Quality and Panel Management meetings for one year. And anyone working less than .5 FTE in Unit 18, or any SAN physician, has no possibility of receiving a raise under the Medical Center’s proposal.

For psychiatrists, ACMC offered 0% for the current year and 1% in the second year, but only if the doctor attends 10 meetings (Grand Rounds; PES Staff; Quality Review Committee; Patient Restraint Committee; or Town Hall) during the preceding fiscal year. Again, this increase is only open to Unit 18 doctors who work .5 FTE or more. All other psychiatrists, including all SANs, are not eligible for an increase in the next two years.
