1. Fisheries Workforce Development Plan Input

Alaska’s seafood industry is the state’s largest private employer. An estimated 30,000 people participate in the harvesting of fish and shellfish in Alaska each year.

The fishing, seafood and maritime industries, the State of Alaska, and the University of Alaska are working together to determine how we can better support the current fishing workforce, and how to ensure that fishing is a vital career for the next generations of Alaskans.

Your perspective is important. Please take a few minutes to fill out this brief survey.

All input is confidential and will be used to create an Alaska Fisheries, Seafood and Maritime (FSMI) Workforce Development Plan in 2013. Similar plans have been created for the state’s healthcare industry and the oil and gas industry. Theses plans guide state agencies, educational institutions and the industry in developing programs and policies that support our most vital economic engines in Alaska.

At the end of this survey you'll be directed to the FSMI webpage for more information on this process. Thank you for your help.
