TITLE: Ethics Across the Curriculum on a University Campus
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to catalogue how ethics is being taught and assessed at CSULB.
PROCEDURES: You are invited to participate in this study because of your experience and/or interest in teaching ethics in your courses. There is a possibility that results of the study at CSULB will lead to a national study on teaching ethics on university/college campuses.
POTENTIAL RISKS AND DISCOMFORTS: It is anticipated that the risk in participating in the survey study will be minimal. Participation in the study is voluntary.
POTENTIAL BENEFITS TO SUBJECTS AND/OR TO SOCIETY: There might be no direct benefit to subjects. There might be future benefits to the industry as the resulting publications/presentations could have implications in the training and development of current and future students with regard to ethical issues. A possible benefit to participants who receive the report summary would be expanding their ethics training resources, knowledge of learning objectives, and assessment methods.
CONFIDENTIALITY: All information that is obtained in connection with this study will be confidential. No individual identifiers will be recorded and no names will be used in the reports that are generated. It is the intent of the researchers that presentations at academic conferences and a published article will result from this process.
PARTICIPATION AND WITHDRAWAL: You may choose whether or not to participate in this study. If you volunteer to be in this study, you may withdraw at any time without consequences of any kind.
