Dear Potential Training Attendee Team:

Thank you for your interest in attending the first "Are you ready for federal funding?: Capacity Building for Community-Based & Culturally Specific Organizations" Regional Training hosted by Casa de Esperanza in partnership with the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community (IDVAAC) and the Asian Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence (APIIDV). This regional training is supported by the Office on Violence Against Women, Department of Justice (OVW) and will be offered at no cost to participants.

By the end of the meeting, participants will be able to:

1. Assess and strengthen their organizational readiness to apply for OVW and other federal funds through aligning mission, values, organizational development and programs.
2. Navigate the federal funding system and identify which grants support their mission.
3. Develop and write compelling grant applications.
4. Represent their expertise as culturally-specific, community-based organizations.

We will accept applications from teams consisting of 2-4 people per organization, preferably including staff representatives for finance, grant writing, executive director, and/or programs.

Applicant Requirements:
-Geographically located in the United States North East region (CT, DC, DE, MA, ME, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV)
-Organizational Team of 2-4 people
-Community-based organization
-Culturally-specific organization
-Have limited or no experience with OVW and other federal funding
-501 (c) 3 nonprofits or have a fiscal sponsor
-Have a commitment to ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or gender based violence

Before you begin, we would like to remind you that partially completed applications will not be saved. We recommend that you set aside a few minutes to complete the entire application. You could also save your answers on a word document ahead of time, and "copy and paste" when you are ready to answer each question.

The deadline to submit an application is Friday, September 19, 2014.
