1. Description of study

Thank you for your interest in our study, MIXED HERITAGE VOICES. The purpose of this study is to learn about the feelings and experiences of mixed heritage individuals. We use the term "mixed heritage" in order to include people who are biethnic or multiethnic but monoracial (i.e. parents are from at least two different ethnicities but are the same race) as well as those who are biracial or multiracial (i.e., parents are from at least two different races).

This study consists of a survey and possible interview. It will take about 45 minutes to complete the survey. When you finish the survey, please exit from it. Consenting to take the survey does not mean that you are automatically consenting to the interview. If you qualify for and participate in the interview, you will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. There are no anticipated risks in this study. Although there will be no direct benefit to you for taking part in this study, the researcher may learn more about mixed heritage individuals.

All of the information you share with us is confidential. The information that you give in the study will be anonymous. Your name will not be collected or linked to your answers. Your name will never be associated with reports of the study and we will only use your personal information to determine if you qualify for the interview portion, record your participation, give you course credit or payment, or, if you are interested, email you the results of the study.

You should understand that the decision to take part in this study is completely voluntary, that you can skip a question if you do not want to answer it, and that you may decline to participate or withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.
