We need your opinion about how well NC’s universities perform in commercialization activities (i.e., creation and support of startup companies as investment opportunities; licensing innovations to existing businesses or startups). Your views will be used to help Governor McCrory's Innovation-to-Jobs Working Group prioritize key challenges to address with policies or programs focused on increasing licensing revenue, the number and quality of startups, the opportunities for investors, and the impact of innovation for NC.
The Working Group, convened by the Governor and staffed by the NC Department of Commerce's Office of Science & Technology, consists of a small number of academics, technology commercialization specialists. Its purpose is to develop 3-5 actionable items to increase the economic impact of the state's university based innovation assets. The Working Group will deliver a briefing to Governor McCrory at the end of September.
The survey requires approximately fifteen minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous, unless you choose to provide optional information about yourself at the end of the survey. Please complete the survey only if you have expertise and/or experience in university innovation and commercialization activities or early stage investment opportunities.
